Written Tycoon retained by Iskander Racing and Eliza Park Stud
The Gr2-wining 6YO sire Written Tycoon (Iglesia-Party Miss, by Kenmare) will remain at Eliza Park Stud after David O’Callaghan Bloodstock (acting on behalf of Eliza Park and Iskander Racing) paid top price of $625,000 for him during yesterday’s 3rd session of the Great Southern Sale at Oaklands in Melbourne.
Written Tycoon (Timeform‘s 2nd-highest rated 2YO colt for the 2004-05 season) was offered to dissolve the current syndicate & Eliza Park chief executive Cameron Croucher declared: “Written Tycoon is clearly one of the most promising stallions in the country & we’ve had tremendous feedback from breeders about his 1st crop of foals. Courtesy of his magnificent conformation & ability to win a Gr2 as a 2YO, broodmare owners have supported him with 205 mares since he retired to Eliza Park in 2007.”
Written Tycoon again looks set to be one of the most popular stallions on Iskander’s stallion roster, with many breeders confirming their mares for this spring immediately following the result of the auction.
On the track, Written Tycoon won the Gr2 Todman Stakes & placed in both the Gr3 San Domenico Stakes & Listed Canterbury Classic. (May 21)
