Top Queensland trainer questioned by stewards

Prominent Queensland trainer Bryan Guy has been questioned by stewards after his gelding Laurels tested positive to testosterone.

Stewards opened an inquiry into the matter last week when they spoke to Guy and his private veterinary surgeon
The matter has been adjourned to allow Guy time to make further investigations into how the positive sample came about.
Meanwhile, grand campaigner Mitanni has been retired.
Trained at the Gold Coast by John Wallace, Mitanni raced 85 times for 20 wins and 27 placings earning almost $1.2 million in prizemoney.
His biggest wins included the Eye Liner Stakes earlier this year and the 2007 Sir Byrne Hart Stakes while he also finished third behind glamour gallopers Takeover Target and Gold Edition in that year’s Doomben 10,000.
