Sydney jockey disqualified for four years
A Sydney jockey has been disqualified for four years after providing a positive swab to an illegal substance.
Warwick Farm-based rider Andrew Banks pleaded guilty to a charge after a urine sample he provided following trackwork at his home track on February 22 was found to contain traces of a banned substance.
It was the fourth time Banks had been penalised under racing rule AR81(A)(a), the last time in 2006 he was suspended for two years.
Banks has the right to appeal the ban.
