Swiss Ace deadheats under 68 Kg


Oakleigh Plate winner Swiss Ace has carried 68 kilograms to a share of first place in an open handicap at the Sunshine Coast.

Swiss_ace5 Swiss Ace, who also ran second in the Newmarket Handicap in the autumn, was having his first start since finishing last in the BTC Cup won by Duporth in May.
With regular partner Ken Pope aboard, Swiss Ace led the four horse field in the 1000 metre dash on the grass track at the Sunshine Coast with the result a dead heat with That’s Better.
Pelltro finished a nose third with Lackadosh almost three lengths away.
Swiss Ace had to concede 11-1/2 kilos to That’s Better.
The next Group One target for Swiss Ace is the Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley on September 25 with the five-year-old to get his first look at the track in the McEwen Stakes on September 12.
