Snowden's Slipper team narrowing down
Peter Snowden is finalising his plans for Golden Slipper week with favourite Sepoy the centerpiece.
Snowden has four runners qualified in Saturday’s Slipper; Sepoy, Saturday’s Magic Night winner Altar, Aerobatics and Helmet.
“I’ll probably only have the two runners; Sepoy and Altar,” Snowden said.
Snowden looked to the skies as his main concern with this season’s star juvenile and Blue Diamond winner Sepoy.
“He is great, perfect, couldn’t be better,” Snowden said.
“I just don’t even want to think about the weather; dead would be fine, I’d even probably take a not too bad slow track.
“But I couldn’t be happier with the horse.”
Helmet is the one causing most concern for Snowden as he was to trial last week but missed the hitout after a barrier incident and was forced to go again Monday morning.
“It’s probably all a bit too soon for him,” he said. “I’ll probably give him a really strong hit-out in the trial and aim for races after the Slipper.
“Altar pulled up well and she will run.”
