NSW won’t follow Victoria with early weights yet
Racing NSW chief executive Peter V’landys said Racing NSW won’t be following the lead of Racing Victoria by moving the release of weights to Monday afternoon for Saturday’s metropolitan meetings.
On Monday, RVL announced a new initiative that will see weights released on Saturday metropolitan and Friday night Moonee Valley meetings between 3pm and 5pm on Monday if weights are not extended.
“We’ll sit on the sidelines at his stage as interested observers,” V’landys said.
“I’m not so sure there is any major benefit.”
V’landys pointed out that Racing NSW initiated Wednesday acceptances for Saturday’s metropolitan meetings and a 5pm scratching cut-off for dual acceptors.
