Melbourne 3YO off the Hong Kong
The promising Victorian three-year-old Roadtrain will continue his career in Asia after Hong Kong interests secured the gelding in a deal completed last week.
Roadtrain’s purchasers bought the former Tony Vasil-trained gelding for an undisclosed figure, believed to be around $550,000, after the three-year-old ran a strong fourth to Whobegotyou and Dao Dao in the Group II Blamey Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on March 12.
The son of Not A Single Doubt won three of his eight starts for the Vasil stable.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong buyers have declared their interest in another Vasil-trained three-year-old, the Group II placed gelding Under The Eiffel.
No deal has been made to buy Under The Eiffel, but prospective Hong Kong purchasers have flooded the Mossman gelding’s owners with offers since the start of his promising Melbourne campaign.
