Jolie Shinju prepares for Data Tan Chin Nam Stakes

Star Singapore mare Jolie’s Shinju stepped up her work at Sandown on Tuesday in preparation for the Group Two Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes at Moonee Valley on Saturday week.

The five-year-old worked solidly from the 1400m mark on the Hillside course, running home the last 400m in just over 24.1 seconds.
Regular track rider Eric Samri was clearly happy with the gallop, yelling “Yahoo!” on his way back past onlookers.
Assistant trainer Tetsuhito Hirose was very pleased with her work and how she has settled in and said she had put on weight since she arrived in Australia on August 22, indicating she was enjoying her time at Sandown.
Jolie’s Shinju will work at Moonee Valley next Tuesday and complete her preparation for the Dato Tan Chin Nam with a strong gallop at Sandown next Wednesday.
The mare, a dual Group One winner in Singapore, will be after her fifth straight win in the 1600m weight-for-age feature.
Her latest start resulted in a five-length victory in the Singapore Derby (2000m) on July 12 and she is currently at $16 with TAB Sportsbet for the $3 million Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley on October 24.
