Honours List filly Clouts the opposition at Canterbury
Mondial Dame, a promising 3yr old Honours List (IRE) filly thrilled connections at Canterbury yesterday, when she scored a convincing 2 1 length victory on debut.
Her consistent trial performances led Wyong trainer Michael Clout to nominate for a first up start in the city, a smart move on the young trainer’s part. “She is a lovely type of filly, and she has really benefited from the bit of extra time we have given her to mature. She is obviously showing us a lot of promise and it is great to have such a nice filly in the stable”.
Jockey Glyn Schoefield was equally impressed with the daughter of Honours List “She really surprised me with how quick she was – she put herself right out there to win and really delivered on the promise she showed in her trials.”
When asked what the future holds for the 3 yr old, Clout replied “First things first we will make certain that she recovers from the run, after which I intend to place her in races that she can win – we’ll just wait to see how her preparation develops and take it one step at a time.”
