Written Tycoon coming up trumps for Heathcote
Champion First Season Sire Written Tycoon started his second season with a bang with lightly raced son Trump an impressive winner today for Robert Heathcote at Eagle Farm.
Trump, who was resuming today, proved far too strong for his rivals in winning the Bundaberg Distilling Co. Handicap over 1300 metres. The flashy 3yo who has always shown good ability has come of age according to Heathcote and will only get better over more ground.
“Trump has always shown me very good ability but was just a bit immature mentally. This time in he is a lot more mature and it is really showing on the track” said Heathcote.
The victory of Trump is just the latest success for Eliza Park’s brilliant young stallion Written Tycoon who was crowned Champion First Season Sire of Australia earlier this month.
Written Tycoon’s stock has hit the ground running with outstanding 2yo Masthead leading the way. With trial and race winners from both sexes in Australia and New Zealand Written Tycoon has commenced his career in an auspicious manner and has certainly impressed Trump’s trainer in the process.”Iskander racing have given me three Written Tycoon’s to train and so far I’ve been very impressed. Apart from being great types, they are very tractable, intelligent horses and are a pleasure to train, I think he has a huge future in front of him.” said Heathcote.
Heathcote will now look for a suitable race for Trump with his ultimate goal to get the gelding over more ground.”I have said to the owners from very early on that I think this horse will make a nice miler, and nothing he has done has changed my mind. Now that he is relaxing more we are seeing what he can do.” said Heathcote
Written Tycoon is again proving very popular with breeders and will stand this season at $11,000 (inc GST) at Eliza Park Stud Victoria.
