Whobegotyou out of Doncaster

1Flemington trainer Mark Kavanagh has ruled top weight-for-age galloper Whobegotyou out of the Sydney autumn carnival.

Kavanagh advised stewards the son of Street Cry was suffering from a curbed hock and would now head to the spelling paddock ahead of a spring preparation later in the year.

Whobegotyou is the second topliner Kavanagh has ruled out of the Sydney autumn carnival after the trainer decided to abort Shocking’s preparation after his win in last Saturday’s Group I Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington.
“Unfortunately Whobegotyou is lame and is out until the spring carnival,” Kavanagh said. “He won’t be competing in any further races this autumn.

“He has a mild strained ligament above a hock and we will be sending him to the paddock and give him some time to be right for the spring carnival.”

Whobegotyou was a $7 second favourite to win the Group I Doncaster Mile. Sydney’s best mare More Joyous is the ruling Doncaster favourite at $2.60.
