Swab drama - nothing positive says chief stipe
Racing Victoria chief steward Terry Bailey has moved to hose down reports of a swab irregularity with a sample taken from Caulfield Guineas winner Starspangledbanner.
A report appeared in the Fairfax newspapers surrounding allegations the Leon Corstens-trained colt returned a hormone irregularity before the Guineas with Victorian stewards awaiting confirmation of the tests.
Bailey refused to comment on the case to the Sydney Morning Herald but made a public comment on the matter on Sport 927’s Racing Central.
“We have no outstanding positive swabs for any horse on our table,” Bailey said.
Bailey said any media report to the contrary was wrong.
