Midway through the USA’s 2YO sales season Southern Image posts the 4th highest 2YO sales average of all Freshman Sires.  His $124,167 average trails only those of Forest Danger, Rock Hard Ten and Ghostzapper.

At the recently concluded OBS March Select Sale Southern Image’s average of $175,000 was the 6th highest of all sires.  Silverton Hills, LLC went to $260,000 to purchase Hip #496 and Tom McGreevy, agent for Rick Porter’s Fox Hill Farm, purchased Hip #190 for $90,000.

Travis writes “We continue to hear encouraging things from owners and trainers of Southern Image 2YOs and highly anticipate them making their racetrack debuts this summer.  With the early success of his 2YOs Southern Image offers great upside and value this year and we feel this is an opportune time to breed.”

Some very notable breeders have booked mares to Southern Image this year including: Monticule Farm (breeder of KY Derby winner Big Brown), trainers Larry Jones and Mike Machowsky, Rick Porter’s Fox Hill Farm, Tom McGreevy (advisor to Fox Hill Farm), Nelson Bunker Hunt, BryLynn Farm, etc.
