So You Think back – in distance
Champion racehorse So You Think may take a step back in distance following the comments of his trainer Aidan O’Brien. O’Brien signalled the possibility after So You Think won his second European start at The Curragh on May 22.
“He has the class and speed to win a Group 1 over a mile,” O’Brien said
There is growing speculation So You Think will have a freshen-up after the Group I Prince Of Wales Stakes (2000m) on June 15 after O’Brien nominated the son of High Chapparal for the Group I Sussex Stakes (1600m) at Goodwood on July 27.
Neither O’Brien nor Coolmore would confirm the champ’s route towards the Group I Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (2400m) at Longchamp on October 2.
The Aussie star has won both Irish starts over 2000 metres but with the Arc still a long way off the opportunity for a freshen-up could pay dividends in October.
There is a possibility So You Think will have his final racetrack start in the Group I Breeders Cup Turf (2400m) at Churchill Downs, Kentucky, on November 5.
