Samantha won't Miss out on BMW
Super filly Samantha Miss is among the 73 nominations received by the Sydney Turf Club for the $2.25 million The BMW.
The Kris Lees-trained Samantha Miss, who won the VRC Oaks last start in November, resumes in the Group Two Light Fingers Stakes at Randwick on February 14.
Melbourne Cup winner Viewed is one of four horses nominated by master trainer Bart Cummings for the 2400-metre race along with Australian Cup winner Sirmione, Dandaad and Melbourne Cup sixth placegetter Moatize.
Cummings’ son Anthony also has four nominated – Recoup De Fortune, Road To Rock, Solo Flyer and Zavite.
Leading trainers Gai Waterhouse and David Hayes have nominated five each.
Waterhouse has entered defending BMW champion Tuesday Joy, Mackinnon Stakes winner Theseo, Fight And Defend, Rockwood and Rock Kingdom while Hayes is represented by Growl, Largo Lad, Kibbutz, Wookah and Zagreb.
Peter Moody has four entries in Excelltastic, Tawakoni, Annenkov and Definitive.
Mark Kavanagh has Cox Plate winner Maldivian, Caulfield Guineas winner Whobegotyou and Dr Doute’s.
The BMW is at Rosehill on April 4.
