Race Club mergers in the pipeline
Racing NSW chief executive, Peter V’landys, has today announced that the firm of Ernst & Young had been commissioned by Racing NSW to undertake an analysis of the possible merger between the Australian Jockey Club and the Sydney Turf Club.
The firm will also undertake a similar analysis of a merger between the Gosford Race Club and theWyong Turf Club.
“Submissions were received from five high-profile consulting firms who expressed an interest in undertaking these analyses,” said Mr V’landys.
“The decision to appoint Ernst & Young was made by the Board following consultation with the race clubs and after presentations by the various firms.
“Ernst & Young has considerable experience and expertise in conducting analyses such as this and Racing NSW is confident that the firm will produce a report which will enable proper consideration to be given to this important matter.”
Mr V’landys said that the firm will report its findings in three months.
