Pure Drama keeps them coming

Impressive Pure Theatre filly Pure Drama stayed true to her name, snatching victory by a lip at Canterbury on Friday.

The highly strung filly had owners and connections holding their breath right until the finishing line in the Virtual Network Solutions Handicap.

Pure Drama objected to the determined whip wielding of Nash Rawiller, forcing the experienced hoop to re balance the filly and finish the run off with hands and heels.

The decision paid off at the last minute when she gunned down Messenger on the line, under a top weight of 58.5Kg.

Trainer Charlie Britt was delighted with the win but admitted he thought it was touch and go at the top of the straight "I saw her swishing her tail and lose balance and I thought it was all over, but Nash got her back together and to the line in the nick of time. She did well to back up today carrying top weight and after a tough run at Hawkesbury last week, which followed a 5 week break between runs. We will find something for her again in a fortnight or so, which will give her a chance to be at her best again."’s racing manager Suman Hedge was obviously very pleased with the win "We have been having some great successes with the horses that Charlie is training for us – obviously we are very pleased with how they are going and we have high hopes for the future of both Pure Drama and Donna’s Honour, amongst others. Charlie has a number of iskander youngsters that are leased to fantastic clients and supporters of – we are pleased that our owners are enjoying the racing experience…… after all that is what it is all about."Pure Drama_2_CANT_130209_A031 Pictured are owners with trainer Charlie Britt and Pure Drama, centre.
