Punters sticking with Sydney’s glamour girl
Sportingbet Australia baited the hook and the punters charged straight in and supported More Joyous in Saturday’s Doncaster Mile at Randwick following Tuesday’s barrier draw for the $2 million feature.
When final field betting commenced Sportingbet Australia offered $2.25 and not long after the barrier draw was conducted they tightened their quote into $2.20.
“Two of the first bets we wrote were bets of $10,000 and $5,000 at the $2.25,” Sportingbet Australia spokesman Bill Richmond said.
“She’s clearly been the best backed runner with us today.”
Richmond said the Mick Price-trained Aloha has her admirers and has firmed in from $9.50 into $9, while two at longer odds have attracted support as well.
“There’s been a bit of interest for Danleigh, he’s $17 into $16,” he said.
“The other one that has been well supported at longer odds is Captain Sonador.
“He’s a proven miler and is in from $51 to $34.”
