Pollett back to best

david_hayesMounting yard guru Glenn Pollett returned a sensational winning day on Saturday, setting followers up for what he anticipates will be a profitable lead-in to the autumn carnival.

Pollett started the day in perfect fashion, tipping Abstract at $12 to beat odds-on favourite Godspeed, with the exacta paying $24.

A slight hiccup followed betting around Fast Clip in the next, but that was all forgotten when African Prince saluted at $9 with a message “improved 4 lengths” and “betting up huge each-way.”

The good form continued with Screen declared an absolute moral, Mascareri on top and chopping out with Red Tracer as a saver.

“The period like we are now in is probably the most vital for the mounting yard,” Pollett said.

“Thank God, we are starting to see the better horses return and naturally their level of fitness, behaviour and, more importantly, their development, will be the major factors in the outcome of many races.

“We’ll continue to gain an edge and I’m confident of many good winning days ahead.”

Pollett will be covering midweek fixtures at Warwick Farm on Wednesday and Canterbury Friday night, then it’s a huge day’s racing on Saturday with Expressway Stakes at Rosehill and many stars returning for Warren Huntly at Caulfield.

“Some of the names due to return at Caulfield look outstanding and Warren has done a sensational job with both his tips and the information he sends out,” Pollett said.

“We’ll continue to find good priced winners but the information that you can use to enhance your own work now is as vital as it ever is with horses resuming.

“It’s a great period and I’m really pumped about.”
