Munce suspended for four
It was a day of mixed emotions for jockey Chris Munce at Warwick Farm on Wednesday when his winning double was spoiled by a four meeting careless riding suspension that will see him miss Chipping Norton Stakes day on Saturday week.
Munce incurred the ban on his winning ride Rich Endowment in the Dr Grace Handicap (1400m) where stewards ruled that he shifted in when insufficiently clear of eventual fifth place getter Mocha Coffee, causing it to lose its running passing the final 200 metres.
The suspension begins on Sunday and he will eligible to return on March 8, a day after Group One Chipping Norton Stakes day at Randwick.
Munce landed the winning double on the Paul Perry-trained Fabella in the Embasadora Handicap (1400m).
