Apprentices off to Singapore

Victorian-based apprentices William Egan and Jason Maskiell will represent Australia in Singapore later this month in the second edition of the Asian Young Guns Challenge.
The Challenge, which was conceived by the Victoria Racing Club and staged for the first time at Flemington last year, will take place at Kranji Racecourse on July 18 with two apprentices from Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia also taking part.

The 10 apprentices will compete in three selected races – two on turf and one on Kranji’s Polytrack – with the jockeys earning points according to where their mounts finish in each of the races.
