Another Wolfgram suspended in Queensland
Jockey Phillip Wolfgram has joined his wife Tracey in hot water after Queensland Racing stewards suspended him for failing a drug test.
Earlier this month, stewards disqualified Tracey Wolfgram for nine months after they found the Toowoomba trainer guilty of acceptance fraud but is training on a stay of proceedings pending an appeal.
Queensland Racing stewards charged Phillip Wolfgram with a breach of AR81A1(a) after finding traces of Phentermine in a urine sample taken from the rider at the January 29 Toowoomba meeting.
Phentermine is an appetite suppressant, which can affect the central nervous system.
Wolfgram pleaded guilty to the charge before stewards suspended him for a month. Stewards backdated the penalty to February 10, the day on which Wolfgram was stood down from riding.
Wolfgram’s penalty is scheduled to end at midnight on March 10 but the rider must provide a clean urine sample prior to his return.
