Craig Williams has not given up hope of riding Dunaden in Tuesday's Melbourne Cup despite having his appeal against a careless riding suspension dismissed.
Williams said he would talk to his lawyers to discuss if there was any other avenue of appeal.
Williams, who rode Southern Speed to win the Caulfield Cup and Pinker Pinker to win the Cox Plate, was suspended at Bendigo on Wednesday.
As it stands his suspension starts at the conclusion of Saturday's Derby meeting.
French horse Dunaden is second favourite for Tuesday's Melbourne Cup with Christophe Lemaire coming to Melbourne to ride him if Williams fails in any other appeal.
